Blackout paradox – Shamaniac

“Who looks outside, dreams; Who looks inside, awakes.”

‑ Carl Gustav Jung

Blackout paradox invites you beyond the human world as you know it. Through dance, dreaming, passion and struggle, the shaman’s soul sets out towards self-discovery and personal experience beyond the ordinary reality. Dance, acrobatics and fire dance loosely inspired by shamanism, mysticism and rituals.
Epic costumes, masks and unusual fire props combined with sophisticated choreography create a unique visual experience.

Cie Pieds Perchés – OK(N)o

Public space/private space/intimacy. Blending circus, dance and physical theater, the site-specific OK(N)o project questions the very notions of private and public space as it attempts to identify the places where individual freedom can be found within these two realms. OK(N)o is meant to be performed in indoor and outdoor environments, in different cities and in varying forms. It plays with the idea of observing and being observed which involves putting the audience in the position of both the observer and the observed.

Cirk La Putyka – Kaleidoscope

Insane jumps on a giant teeter board, group dance numbers, aerial acrobatics as well as flights on the trampoline. A flurry of gags and tricks, pumping music and laughter, hypnotic images contrasting with a summer party in the open air. Traditions meet modernity, seasoned La Putyka members mingle with fresh circus blood. A total of eight acrobats, actors and dancers shine throughout the show like pieces of glass in a kaleidoscope. Stop thinking. Open your eyes, lend us your ears and plunge into a flashy collage of art and joy.

About Cirk La Putyka

Since 2008 the originally small group of enthusiasts who wanted to create a single performance has grown into a grouping of almost one hundred actors, dancers, acrobats, musicians, producers, technicians, doctors, make-up artists and other professionals.
Following the unexpected success of the debut show La Putyka the brothers Rosťa and Vítek Novák founded Cirk La Putyka. Since then as the groups’ artistic director and managing director respectively, the two brothers have been defining the direction and speed of travel of our theater and contemporary circus wagon.
Over the first ten years of our existence, we have created more than 20 projects, cooperated with more than 300 people of 25 nationalities, given more than 1,500 performances and visited more than 21 countries.

Filip Zahradnický – Collection of Sceptical Pleasures

“A Collection of Sceptical Pleasures” is a full-length solo performance by Filip Zahradnický which uses juggling, object manipulation and movement as its principal means of expression. The show presents an abstract collage of scenes and images inspired by the necessity and the futility of art.
Filip Zahradnický creates his own space where abstract art and particular objects come together to spawn surreal situations which challenge the genre of contemporary circus performance and art exhibition.

“…The pink cubicle is a woman’s house. A comical battle between the two protagonists ensues. The woman won’t give up her pink cubicle but the technician has a job to do and the cubicle has to be trucked elsewhere. They’re playing cat and mouse – or Tom and Jerry, to be precise – setting up traps for each other and fighting for their territory like lions. It’s a comical spectacle…” – Dance News

Balancealots – Link the Click

In an urge to connect with the environment, the two quirky & colorful individuals show the difficulty of learning to work together by trying to find the balance between the two extremes of social connection: the online and the offline presence.
They drag their wonky kart everywhere they go, bringing life to any street corner, through a complex mashup of skills and live beats to generate positive energy.
The show includes partner acrobatics, live music & comedy to create a spectacle that makes weirdness oddly normal.

Ondřej Holba – And Who Is Useless Now?

And Who Is Useless Now? is an original theater performance about a man, four robots, one slightly elitist artificial intelligence, and the transfer of responsibility to technologies.
While Wendy the A.I. is trying to use art to win humans’ acceptance as a thinking being, Florent who shares the stage with her is beginning to doubt his human mind. How much freedom and human qualities are we willing to sacrifice for comfort?

Squadra Sua – Across

Squadra Sua – Across

A surreal clown comedy directed by Jos Houben and Veronika Poldauf Riedlbauchová.
Five clowns are on their way from point A to point B, or maybe from B to A, or if you want, to point C via a load of other points. They’re on the path everyone loves to stroll through their inner world. You can’t avoid a story no matter how hard you try.
Five clowns in smart jackets bring up a heavy question: to be or not to be. It’s so heavy that at least one of them should lose some weight. Five clowns stick to their course without asking where the sticks came from. Dream logic and everyday absurdity ceremoniously intermix in suspended buckets. But if you trip, don’t kick the bucket!

LAVABO is a physical performance with contemporary circus elements . The performance is the result of exploration of both physical and spiritual cleansing and hygiene, a transient experience connected to the body, and those moments when we are alone.
Where does the human body end and the mind begins?
The face is one of the only part of the body we never see. The only times we see it is in a bare reflection or reproduction.

LAVABO was selected for the Czech Dance Platform 2020 showcase festival.

“The mindfulness and the raw energy which Lukas exhibits as he moves through the various motifs and symbols of the show create an explosive mix which makes the audience absorb his every movement, desire to interpret it, fear the outcome and have immense fun all at the same time.” – Dominik Melichar, Divadelní Noviny (https://www.divadelni-noviny.cz/cirkopolis-no-3-1).

About The Trick Brothers

Two cross-country skiers lost in the map and the season of the year, side by side yet in the same track, embark upon the Skiing Odyssey – a journey of blunders with an uncertain course and end. It‛s time to swish your poles around, klister your mustache, warm up with a shot of tea and we‛re ready to hit the corduroy! The Skiing Odyssey draws on the many years of the duo‛s street-theater experience. Their strengths include self-irony, juggling, moderate acrobatics and kind humor. As the Germans say, “Langläufer leben länger” or “cross-country skiers live longer” and laughing is known to have the same effect. Therefore, enjoy the elixir of immortality that this show offers.

Viktor Černický – PLI

Full show balance, clowning, indoor, object manipulation, outdoor, physical theatre, site specific

Viktor Černický – PLI

PLI brings together 22 conference chairs, obsessive rhythm and one devoted man. On a small platform, Viktor Černický dives resolutely into the effort for indefinite construction, reconstruction and deconstruction of the Universe. The outcome is an intelligent and playful solo – a physical metaphore for endless human dynamics, patience and striving that turns even the most ordinary objects into incredible pieces of architecture.

Following the baroque philosophy of Gottfried Willhelm Leibniz, PLI is an unpredictable and humorous performance where baroque robustness is replaced with spatial modesty and material minimalism.

O souboru Viktor Černický

Viktor Černický creates works that straddle the fine line between dance, performance, circus, and physical theater. He heads the long-term research project called The Body as Object / The Object as Body which looks at the dynamics of relationships between the object and the subjective individuality of the performer.

His first solo performance Parolapolea earned him nominations in categories Dancer of the Year and Dance Performace of the Year at the 2017 Czech Dance Platform. His latest solo piece PLI, presented after 2 years of work in November 2018, received the Audience Award and Total Award of Czech Dance Platform 2019. With this performance Viktor has received an international recognition and become a part of Aerowaves Twenty20 selection.

Viktor is currently involved in the European project Shape It!, focused on mediating dialogue between dancers and young audiences, and is preparing a new work in a co-production of the international network BeSpectACTive! In addition to his own work, he collaborates with, among others, Daniel Gulko, Dominique Boivin, Cirk La Putyka, or Compagnie Mossoux-Bonté. Since 2019 he has been a guest teacher at the Prague DAMU in the international program Ma DOT.
