Full show acrobatics, aerials, experiment, hand2hand, indoor, juggling, object manipulation, outdoor, physical theatre, site specific, street arts

Cie Pieds Perchés – OK(N)o

Public space/private space/intimacy. Blending circus, dance and physical theater, the site-specific OK(N)o project questions the very notions of private and public space as it attempts to identify the places where individual freedom can be found within these two realms. OK(N)o is meant to be performed in indoor and outdoor environments, in different cities and in varying forms. It plays with the idea of observing and being observed which involves putting the audience in the position of both the observer and the observed.

Length 30-50 min, Fexible in function of the demand Who is it suitable for? For all audience

Eliška Brtnická – HANG OUT

Full show experiment, outdoor, site specific, street arts

Eliška Brtnická – HANG OUT

“The greatest danger in life is that we become too cautious.” (Japanese proverb)
One of today’s highest values is safety. An increasingly extensive system of rules and standards is supposed to guarantee that “nothing can happen to us” in public space. Where and at what risk is it still possible to wander outside, hang out, hang up and hang out? Do our children still go out alone? Safety has become our mantra, but don’t we miss the trembling, because of which we jump with a parachute or at least go to the circus?
Performer and acrobat Eliška Brtnická deal in her audio walk performance HANG OUT with remote and forbidden places in public space, where you maybe always wanted to climb.

Filip Zahradnický – Collection of Sceptical Pleasures

Full show balance, clowning, experiment, indoor, juggling, object manipulation, outdoor, physical theatre

Filip Zahradnický – Collection of Sceptical Pleasures

“A Collection of Sceptical Pleasures” is a full-length solo performance by Filip Zahradnický which uses juggling, object manipulation and movement as its principal means of expression. The show presents an abstract collage of scenes and images inspired by the necessity and the futility of art.
Filip Zahradnický creates his own space where abstract art and particular objects come together to spawn surreal situations which challenge the genre of contemporary circus performance and art exhibition.

Holektiv – Crows

Full show acrobatics, aerials, experiment, flow arts, indoor, outdoor, physical theatre, site specific

Holektiv – Crows

They live next to people’s home the same way they occupy their secluded forest territories. Their color, hunched posture and fondness for carcasses have made them a symbol of death. However, they also symbolize the birth of a new life. Crows are bearers of dreams and secrets. Crows are also a physical performance accompanied by live music which takes place on a single object.
The Crows performance was created in 2020 with the intent to produce a show in a non-theatrical environment. The Czech Museum of Music was chosen as its original location. However, Crows can also be performed in the open air.

About Holektiv

The Holektiv company was founded in 2015 when Andrea Vykysalá, Eva Stará and Karolína Křížková decided they wanted to work together. Thus, a purely female ensemble emerged on the Czech cultural scene. Since then, they have created a unique style with poetry-like esthetics.

Alžběta Tichá – Stav

Work in progress aerials, experiment, flow arts, indoor, outdoor, site specific

Alžběta Tichá – Stav

We are all constantly changing…
The STAV solo performance is a metaphor of a woman’s life path. Time is running and she is changing at every moment. Who was she in the beginning and who is she now? What comes next?
The constant yet unconscious metamorphosis of the physical and mental state is visualized and communicated through the movement of the acrobat.
The story serves as an inspiration to gain awareness of the transformations we undergo in life.

Ondřej Holba – And Who Is Useless Now?

Full show dance, experiment, object manipulation, outdoor, physical theatre, robots

Ondřej Holba – And Who Is Useless Now?

And Who Is Useless Now? is an original theater performance about a man, four robots, one slightly elitist artificial intelligence, and the transfer of responsibility to technologies.
While Wendy the A.I. is trying to use art to win humans’ acceptance as a thinking being, Florent who shares the stage with her is beginning to doubt his human mind. How much freedom and human qualities are we willing to sacrifice for comfort?

Cirkus TeTy – Peeping Janes

Work in progress aerials, experiment, indoor, physical theatre

Cirkus TeTy – Peeping Janes

Peeping Janes is the second of three performances commemorating the 10th anniversary of Cirkus TeTy and takes up the theme of the contrast between idealized expectations and the reality. In our experimental approach to the subject of maternity, the stage is occupied by maternity’s most fundamental impulses: mothers, non-mothers and children. The show lives in the borderland of contemporary circus, dance, and physical theater, and features aerial acrobatics using a suspended rope tunnel.

Stárková, Blaha, Menoušek – LAVABO

Full show experiment, indoor, juggling, object manipulation, physical theatre, site specific

Stárková, Blaha, Menoušek – LAVABO

LAVABO is a physical performance with contemporary circus elements . The performance is the result of exploration of both physical and spiritual cleansing and hygiene, a transient experience connected to the body, and those moments when we are alone.
Where does the human body end and the mind begins?
The face is one of the only part of the body we never see. The only times we see it is in a bare reflection or reproduction.

About Blaha, Stárková, Menoušek

The Blaha, Stárková, Menoušek trio met during their studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (KALD and KND). In 2018, they cooperated on the DÓ project – a physical-theater haiku with circus elements. In their work, they combine research of juggling and object manipulation with physical theater and dance. They search for atypical theatrical and non-theatrical spaces which are key to their productions.

Reviews/Awards

LAVABO was selected for the Czech Dance Platform 2020 showcase festival.

“The mindfulness and the raw energy which Lukas exhibits as he moves through the various motifs and symbols of the show create an explosive mix which makes the audience absorb his every movement, desire to interpret it, fear the outcome and have immense fun all at the same time.” – Dominik Melichar, Divadelní Noviny (https://www.divadelni-noviny.cz/cirkopolis-no-3-1).

What we need

We are currently searching for new partners and spaces to tour and explore. Ideally in the form of a few day research and rehearsal phase to tailor the show to the specificity of the location, followed by the actual show itself.

Eliška Brtnická – Fish Eye

I fall apart and reassemble, I keep changing form. I’m searching for what I am, what is shaping me and what keeps changing my structure. I float and sometimes, I get attached to glass.
Pressure turns into a wave, motion into images, impacts into sounds, water surface into flickering flashes.
A blend of dance, installation art, fashion and aerial acrobatics with a live accompaniment of ultrasound dolphin frequencies.
